User provisioning
Fellow Digitals offers the possibility of User Provisioning between your Identity Provider (IdP) and Fellow Intranet and LMS.
What is User Provisioning?
User provisioning is the automated management of user accounts between different systems. When a user is created, modified, or removed in the Identity Provider (for example Microsoft Entra ID or AFAS), these changes are automatically applied to connected applications in this case Fellow Intranet and LMS.
This eliminates the need for manual user management and ensures that systems always remain synchronized and up to date.
How does User Provisioning work?
User provisioning enables fully automated user management. Below is a simple overview of how it works:
Synchronization of user data: Basic user data (email address, name, job title) is automatically synchronized from the Identity Provider to Fellow Intranet and LMS four times per day.
Automatic account creation: When a new user is created in the Identity Provider, a corresponding account is automatically created in Fellow Intranet and LMS.
Maintenance and updates: Changes to basic user information are automatically updated in Fellow Intranet and LMS. This prevents inconsistencies and errors.
Deprovisioning: When a user leaves the company and is removed from the Identity Provider, their access to Fellow Intranet and LMS is automatically revoked.
Group synchronization: In most cases, groups from the Identity Provider can be synchronized. This allows users to be automatically placed into the correct groups within Fellow Intranet and LMS, and automatically assigned the appropriate access rights to the relevant spaces, events, courses, and programs.
